Intro to Weight Training for Queers

Taught by two trans nb trainers, this 6-week course will focus on the basics of weight training, demonstrating proper use of basic gym equipment and reviewing the six foundational movement patterns relevant for strength and conditioning training with free weights.

Our goal is for participants to move together and learn good form for exercises, and also to leave the 6-week course with a better understanding of how to structure a weight training program for themselves going forward. No prior experience with weight training or gym workouts is required!

Classes will be hosted at a small private gym in Uptown / Ravenswood area with HEPA filtration; masks required** (and some provided, though BYO encouraged). First floor, no stairs to access. 

**If masking is not a barrier to working out for you; if it is, let us know and we'll discuss a workaround!

Strength & Conditioning at Unanimous Boxing Gym

I run a regular Strength and Conditioning class at Unanimous Boxing Gym in Logan Square (Monday evenings, 5 PM & 6:15 PM).

It’s a good way to drop in, say hi, and experience my training style - first drop-in class costs $5!

Note - I always mask while training, but this class is run by Unanimous, and is not masks-required.
